Eat less, lose more

I never thought about how fast I ate, until I realized I wasn’t tasting anything anymore, i gobbled over my meals, finished before everyone else. I grew up eating super slow, and i overcompensated by starting to swallow everything in sight; meals had become transactions: fuel and function, it was over before i started. Learning to eat slower has been surprisingly transformative, it's helped me reconnect with my body, enjoy food more deeply, and even feel calmer throughout the day.

This blog isn’t about strict rules or perfect Ana habits, it’s about small, practical changes that make a big difference on not binging. If you’ve ever looked down at an empty plate and barely remembered the meal, this is for you.

- 1 minute break: after each and every bite stop for one minute before taking the next bite.

- 2 sips rule: in between bites take 2 sips of your liquid poison, points for sparkling water (it fills you quicker than regular).

- 3 bite rule: we've seen this one in another blog, i use it mostly for snacks, but use as you'd like: 1st bite, cut the fear to eat; 2nd enjoy the taste and 3rd stop before you finish.

- Walk to snack: if you're a couch snacker, start walking, i grab an apple and walk around my room, i take this time to tidy up my room, or clean the kitchen. But stay in movement, condition your brain to never snack when sitting down.

- Hands up, fork down: after a few bites put the fork down and look around, just breathe. You're alone you can literally put your hands up (i do it), it will help reteach your brain to take a longer break every once in a while.

- Set a timer: 20 minutes at least, if you finish before the time goes off you lose, punish yourself (30 squats is my go to).

- Talk, don't gobble: if you have company make small talk, only take bite whenever they speak, and take a sip before you speak.

- Playlist: similiar to the timer, make a playlist to eat, you can't finish until you've heard each song at least once. Drink in between songs.

- Mini meals: separate your meal into smaller mounts, focus on each at time. Once you finish the chicken go into the salad, then the fries, yk?

- Chew 10 times, then decide: before you swallow chew ten times and then decide if after this one you're hungry enough to have another bite.

- Enjoy the taste: i've said it before and i'll say it again, Ana doesn't mean you hate food. Remember to enjoy it, there's a certain art to creating food combinations, but i'm a cook so maybe i'm biased 🫠

- Texture test: during a random bite stop chewing and move it around your mouth, how does it feel against your teeth and tongue? Is it crunchy, smooth, chewy?

- One hand challenge: each with your none dominant hand, only a fork or a spoon. If you're not used to it will take you longer to finish.

- Mirror trick: in a group setting fast eaters can be quite noticible, so copy the slowest, when they drink you drink, when they talk you talk. Mirror your goal, fake it until you make it.

- Fresh nailpolish: put on nailpolish right before eating, try not to ruin it and if it smudges punish yourself with a work out.

- Lipstick trick: pretty similiar to the last, try not to smudge it. You can also use lipgloss, but i hate the sticky mess in the glass rim 🙄
